About Ogbon + Ule
Welcome to Ogbon + Ule, a space where knowledge meets wisdom, curiosity ignites wonder, and the seen dances with the unseen. Rooted in our Nigerian heritage—Ogbon from Yoruba meaning "knowledge," and Ule from Edo meaning "wisdom"—this newsletter and podcast is our shared journey into life's biggest questions.
We're not here to deliver answers wrapped in certainty; instead, we invite you to explore the paradoxes, mysteries, and truths that shape our existence, blending personal stories, spiritual insights, scientific reflections, and cultural roots.
Who We Are
We're two curious souls, Wale and Francis (Mufasa), bound by a shared birthday and an unquenchable thirst for understanding.
Wale: Born and raised in Nigeria, I've spent my 40 years navigating the intersections of science, spirituality, and creativity. From childhood fears of the unknown in GRA Ikeja to losing sight in one eye at 13, which sharpened my inner vision, my path has been one of breaking free from rigid bubbles—like Nigerian Pentecostalism—and embracing the expansive wonder of life. As a father, musician, and lifelong learner, I draw from dreams, alchemy, and everyday miracles to fuel my contributions here. Teacher Life has been my greatest guide, teaching me that true sight lies in imagination, courage, and the unmanifested.
Francis (Mufasa): Hailing from Ile-Ife with Benin roots, my curiosity sparked young—from sneaking okra soup at age three to pondering life's meaning amid the Modakeke-Ife war. Raised Catholic, I dove deep into doctrines, but unanswered questions and the loss of my brother in 2020 propelled me into a nomadic global journey. I've run businesses, travelled the world, and explored Eastern philosophies, realising that spirituality is personal, not performative. Now, I blend my experiences in writing, reflection, and observation to question: Why settle for labels when the universe offers direct lessons?
Together, we celebrate our August 30 birthdays as a cosmic wink, uniting our voices to demystify divisions and spark connections. Whether discussing religion vs. spirituality, the science of wonder, or the weight of prophecy, our conversations are raw, vulnerable, and open-ended.
We're grateful you're here. As above, so below—let's uncover the symphony together.
Love and light, Wale & Francis.
